Hi there,
I'm Hayley Loughland, the lady behind Love + Wonder.
I wanted to share a little about who I am and how I got into photography.
I live in Northern NSW in a cute beachside town called Kingscliff. It’s a dream living here -one of my favourite things in life is bumping into people I know on my morning coffee run - it just feels like home.
That’s how I like to make weddings feel when I’m working in your personal space for hours on end, I want to make you feel at home too.
I love love, and photographing weddings means more to me than just taking the photos, human connection is everything to me.
My story.
I spent the majority of my twenties in London working as a nanny and in the music scene... what a contrast hey! I worked for the amazing sisters; Alice and Mary Temperley at Temperley London, (if you don’t know them go have a look at the most beautiful wedding dresses you will ever see), they inspire me still to this day and are like my second family.
This is where I fell in love with weddings and photography, whilst I spent my time around the most inspiring and creative people. My whole world opened up - so much more than I could have ever imagined. From Glastonbury Festival, to amazing fancy dress parties in old historic homes and fashion week in Paris!
The music scene in London was another incredible experience I was lucky to be part of, as I managed a recording artist/producer. The adventures we all had are times I will hold close to my heart forever. A lot of my close friends are creatives from around the world and I get to admire them all in their industries, it keeps me inspired to grow in my art and keep creating.
I also have a huge family, we all live in the same area and I see them everyday. Family is everything, I would be lost without them and they all are so supportive of everything I do.
I got properly into photography when I was 29, after I got my heart broken for the first time and was lost. So I brought a DSLR camera and went off to my cousin’s wedding, took some photos and sent them off to my cousin the next day. One of the photos ended up being published and I was offered weddings through their wedding stylist soon after and have never looked back since, now sharing my knowledge as a TAFE tutor in photography as well as shooting weddings every weekend I can.
Being creative has saved me in so many ways, weddings have taken me around the world and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities.
That’s my story, I hope that helps you get to know me and I can’t wait to hear yours.
:)
